Description
The Sealyham Terrier is the embodiment of power and determination, ever keen and alert, yet free from clumsiness. Resembling the wire fox terrier, they are playful, with an eager to please, outgoing, friendly attitude. They also have their own sense of humor and make delightful companions. Sealyham Terriers are sometimes known as the couch potato as they require less exercise than most terriers.

Temperament: The Sealyham Terriers are loyal, loving, independent, spirited, and affectionate. They are brave little dogs. It has been descried as "the most beautiful union between cheerfulness and courage." They are reserved with strangers, fairly independent, and generally good with other pets, although they can get very dog-aggressive. They like to bark. The Sealyham is good at catching mice and rats. They are best with older children who are considerate of dogs. Sealyhams are "pack" dogs. They appreciate being a key part of a family and welcome companionship with other dogs.
Colors: All white, or white with lemon, brown, blue or badger pied markings on head and ears, much black or heavy ticking undesirable.
Coat: They have a long, hard and wiry coat, with a weather-resistant undercoat. Professional trimming or stripping is needed. They have a medium-long coat and their tails are customarily docked. They shed little to no hair.
Life Expectancy: 12 - 15 years
Litter Size: 3 to 6
Health Issues: This breed is fairly healthy. Prone to eye problems, skin allergies, and deafness.
Living Environment: They are good for apartment living. They are relatively inactive indoors and will do okay without a yard. Prefers cool weather.
